Chief Executive - Martin Higgins
Martin Higgins has led the Food Safety Promotion Board since its inception in December 1999.
His career in the health sector began in 1979, with an attachment to the finance unit, Department of Health and Children. Along with more than 20 years experience in the field, Martin holds qualifications in both accountancy and health economics. He is also a member of the Institute of Directors.
Instrumental in the development of the FSAI, Martin left his post there as Director of Corporate Services in 1999 to lead the newly established Food Safety Promotion Board. His knowledge of the health and food safety sectors has helped to establish safefood as one of the island's primary sources of information and advice for consumers on food issues. |
